self hosted apps for work, one year in

i've been running self hosted apps for work for about a year now. here's what stuck.

vaultwarden. mainwp. wireguard. getoutline. tinyauth. ghost cms. rybbit. openchatgpt. freescount. aaapanel. portainer. grafana.

that's the keep pile.

what i killed. linkwarden, because only a few people felt the need. openwebui, it's okay but gemini workspace replaced it. onyx, just too expensive. librechat, the user management is a dead end. dify, fancy but i never really needed it.

n8n i might spin back up, but claude code sort of killed it. airbyte got replaced with pyairbyte and cloudrun jobs. prometheus and superset are gone. uptimekuma too.

and what never even got past research. slack. notion.

a year in, and the survivors are the boring ones.
